Hi, I'm Sabrina Ames
I am a Colorado portrait photographer, space nerd, dog mom, explorer, adventurer, and level 3 gnome/bard in Dungeons & Dragons.
I specialize in crafting legendary photos of the people, places, pets, and projects you love.
I believe photographs should feel the way your favorite memories do—alive, a little luminous, and full of story. My style blends editorial polish with heartfelt documentary moments: images that feel artfully composed yet honest, elevated yet completely you. My approach is part artist, part hype-woman. I’ll help you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, then shape those real moments into photographs that look like they belong in a magazine and still feel like home.
Whether we’re wandering mountain trails, laughing in the studio, or slinking through city streets, I’m chasing the small sparks—the crinkled-nose smiles, the confident power stance, the quiet way you hold what matters most. Those fleeting, everyday kinds of magic are my favorite things to preserve.
When I’m not behind the camera you’ll find me stargazing, tending an over-ambitious garden, reading, planning the next international adventure, or playing Magic the Gathering with my husband. Curiosity is kind of my compass, and I bring that same wonder into every session I create.

All the twerk without the work. Ok, that catch phrase is absolutely nonsensical, but I want you to have your dream portraits without all of the heavy lifting. I want you to look at your photos 20 years from now and feel that identical feeling of love, adoration, enthrallment, nostalgia, joy, that you felt in front of my lens. But I want to give you that without the stress and anxiety that comes with planning, practicing, producing, photoshopping, and printing your pictures when running solo.

STEP 01
Collab
Please fill out the inquiry form. Then, I will send you a quick questionnaire to get to know you and get a better understanding on how to make your vision come to life. We will then have a quick collaboration call and I will start planning our upcoming photoshoot. It's as simple as that!
STEP 02
Contract
Once we are happy with our game plan, I will send over a contract and a style guide with all of the pertinent details of our photoshoot.
STEP 03
Capture
This is everyone’s favorite part... the moment we get to create together. Whether we meet at a mountain trailhead, a lively downtown street, or in the studio, we’ll dive right in. My goal is to capture a perfect balance of documentary candids and editorial poses. We’ll get the laugh-til-you-snort smiles, the quiet, peaceful moments, and those subtle looks that silently say I love you. And yes, we’ll also get the posed creative, editorial shots that feel gallery-worthy. Life is about balance, and our session will be no exception.

Once the session magic is done, you’ll receive a curated collection of breathtaking images—fully edited and ready to treasure.
